A Blessed Easter!

Posted by tmpowers on April 11, 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We colored eggs with Koen. He loved throwing I mean dropping the eggs into the water. He helped Daddy put the stickers on his Cars Eggs.

We took Koen to Clintwood Bible Church for their Easter Egg Hunt. After he got started he had a great time.

Easter morning started off by attending Sunrise Service at our church. Koen got to spend time with both his little cousins at the same time! Look at how cute they are!

We spent some time at mom and dad’s before heading out to Sherin’s to eat and hide eggs!

Koen had a great time playing ball, hiding eggs and feeding the goats!

Then we went to Tim’s mom and dad’s house to hide eggs and eat. Koen liked to help Kaleigh find the eggs.

Koen got lots of Easter baskets! We got him a barn set and he loves it!

I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter weekend and remembered to celebrate the true meaning of Easter!

Birthdays & Snow!

Posted by tmpowers on February 7, 2010

We have spent the past couple weeks celebrating birthdays! Heather’s birthday, my birthday & Tim’s birthday.
Mom and dad fixed us steaks and a big chocolate chip cookie cake for our birthdays.

We also had steak at Tim’s mom and dad’s to celebrate all three of our birthdays.
We had honey bun cake and homemade ice cream cake made by our neighbor Barbara who is 94!

Tim and Koen got me a Willow Tree figurine of a man and woman, and of two brothers! They are so cute!
They also got me some maternity clothes and a purse. Koen and I got Tim a Willow Tree father and son figurine
and a Tom-Tom GPS for his truck.

Tim brought me an ice cream cake home on the day of my birthday and ironically enough Heather brought Tim
the exact same cake to him at work on his birthday!

We also got to play in the snow with Koen last weekend. Daddy and Koen made a snowman.
Looks like Koen did most of the work though….shoveling the snow….haha!

Koen also made a snow angel. He thought it was fun until the snow went down his collar.

Happy Birthday to Heather to me and to Tim! :)

A Christmas To Remember…

Posted by tmpowers on January 16, 2010

I know I am a little late on the Christmas post….but things have been crazy during the holidays this year! We were without power for a total of 15 days including Christmas and New Years! It will definately be a Christmas that we will never forget.
Here are a few pictures from the holler the day after the storm.

Once they started working on our electricity it took them almost 6 days to get it restored. They had to completely reset 6 or 7 power poles just in our holler. Most of the poles had been snapped into or completely uprooted from the ground. Our phone service and cable went out before the power went out. Our phone and cable wasn’t restored until around 3 weeks. We were only without water for a couple of days but my parents were without water for around a week. Thankfully though my parents never lost electricity or phone during the storm. We took turns staying with them and staying with Tim’s parents. Koen got used to taking his bath in a dishpan and loved it! haha :)

Even though our Christmas was very different this year we were all still very blessed and had a wonderful holiday.
We were able to spend more time with our families this year.

We did manage to stop at our house on Christmas Eve morning to open all of our presents. We had our gas logs turned on but it was still around 50 degrees in our house. Here is Koen trying out his new Cars toddler bed!

Koen and Kaleigh left Santa some cookies and milk. Santa left Koen a huge ball pit!

Koen got lots of presents from all of his family! Kaleigh watched Koen play with his presents.

Kaleigh and Peanut got lots of presents too!

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and will continue to have a blessed New Year!

Trains & Turkey Day!

Posted by tmpowers on November 27, 2009

It has always been a Thanksgiving tradition to go and see the Santa Train each year. I have went since I was probably 10 years old. It was always a very exciting and special time for us when we were little. We took Koen for his first Santa Train experience this year. We did not go last year because it was so cold and Koen was so little.

Koen liked watching the train but he wasn’t so sure about all the other people around. Overall it was a good experience  and  I was very pleased with Koen’s first experience. This year they got off the train and handed out bags full of toys to everyone – it was very nice!

Each year there is always a celebrity that rides the Santa Train and helps throw out all the goodies. This year Wynona Judd rode the train. She got to stand beside Santa and throw snacks and stuffed animals out to all the crowd.

Koen was a little sick for Thanksgiving and he has now passed that onto me. On Thanksgiving morning he was trying to take his own temperature. Look how cute he is in his “Who Are You Calling a Turkey” Pajamas!

Koen really enjoyed Aunt Carolyn’s Ice Cream Cone Cake! He looks like such a big boy with his new haircut. Yes I cute his hair and yes it was a very hard job and yes Tim had to occupy him and let him spray water in a bowl the entire time….haha.
His Thanksgiving shirt says “Gobble Til You Wobble”.

Koen had a good time wrestling with Raina on Thanksgiving. Poor Raina had her tonsils taken out a few days before and all Koen wanted to do was wrestle her around on the floor. It was so cute and so sweet!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for and we are truly blessed. I am thankful for my wonderful husband, my sweet little man Koen and our growing Sprout. I am thankful for my awesome parents and my parents-in-law. I am thankful for all of my wonderful family and friends. We love all of you!

Halloween Fun!

Posted by tmpowers on November 1, 2009

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! We had a very fun time. We went to the pumpkin patch earlier in the month and let Koen pick out his pumpkins. He had fun watching the tractor ride across the fields.

We went to the same pumpkin patch as we did last year. Here is the picture from 2008 and then the picture from this year in 2009.
What a difference a year makes!

Tim carved a pumpkin earlier in the week. He free-handed this Lightning McQueen pattern and it turned out awesome. Koen loves his vroom-vroom pumpkin! He didn’t like the carving process so much though. He wasn’t happy about the sticky pumpkin guts on his hands…haha :)

Happy 4th of July!!!

Posted by tmpowers on July 5, 2009

I hope everyone had a very Happy and Blessed 4th of July! We started our holiday weekend with a cookout/campfire with Tim’s mom and dad. Koen roasted his first marshmallow and ate his first s’more. He loooooved them!

IMG_0526    IMG_0532

Tim, Travis & Derek decided to shoot a few fireworks. I don’t know who thought that was a good idea! haha! Koen let Lindsay play with his blocks but when mamaw decided to feed Summer her bottle and gave Lindsay his sippy cup then he wasn’t so happy about that….haha! Heather is practicing for her arrival in September! And yes Koen really is “Mr. Independent”!

IMG_0550  IMG_0565  IMG_0569

We always have a family reunion on the 4th of July on my Mamaw Elsie’s side of the family. Everyone had a good time!

We went to see the fireworks out town. Koen did pretty good and somehow managed to sleep through most of them….haha. Speaking of fireworks….Koen is a little firecracker himself lately. He has decided that he is going to crawl and walk now at the same time. He has been walking like crazy the past few days! Shew – he is growing up so fast!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Posted by tmpowers on May 10, 2009

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! I had a wonderful 1st Mother’s Day with Tim & Koen. I am so blessed to be a mother and there is no other feeling like it. I absolutely LoVe it! Koen gave me a picture of him with a flower, a bookmark & a card (with some help from Mamaw & Papaw Powers).  Tim and Koen got me a Willow Tree statue that looks like me & Ko. They also got me some beautiful wooden flowers. They are soooo pretty!

Saturday we spent the day with my mom and went to church with her. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful mom. She is more than a mom – she is one of my best friends. We love her very much and are very thankful for her. She is also a grandma now and we are very grateful for all she does for us.

DSC07451

I also have a great mother-n-law. She is always there anytime we need her. She has also made a wonderful grandma. We love her very much and are also grateful for all she does for us. Sunday we went to church with her and out to eat at Mosby’s.

DSC07467

Notice everyone got some wooden roses. I am selling these roses to raise money for my Aunt Sherin who has cancer. They come in a variety of colors and are $8.00 a dozen. Let me know if you would like to purchase some! :)

We also have a new mother this year. Heather is going to make a wonderful mother. Look at her cute big – I mean little belly :) We have a pregnancy bear that we pass around to all of our friends. So I passed the bear to her. Who wants to be next?

Happy Easter!

Posted by tmpowers on April 13, 2009

I hope everyone had a very Blessed & Happy Easter! I also hope everyone remembered the true meaning of Easter and thanked God for all he has done for us and the wonderful blessings in our lives.

We colored easter eggs with Koen on Saturday morning. He was more interested in the newspaper on the table than the eggs or the cups of colored water on the table. Tim and I made the sports eggs by coloring on them!

Koen got lots of goodies from the Easter Bunny, and several different bunnies at that.
I think he liked the grass inside the baskets the most though….haha.

Koen got so much stuff it looked like Christmas all over again!

dsc07287

Koen had a blast hunting for Easter Eggs. He didn’t like the ones that were in the grass though…haha.
He especially liked the eggs with money in them!
