Ko’s 2nd Birthday Bash!

Posted by tmpowers on June 25, 2010

Happy 2nd Birthday Koen Chase Powers! I can’t believe that my little baby has turned 2. He amazes me every day with the new stuff that he does. He is such an incredible little boy and I am so proud of him already.

By his request, we took Koen to McDonald’s and to the park on his actual birthday.

We had a small birthday party for him the next day with just immediate family. It was a barnyard party!
I made a barn cake with farm animals and I also made a mini barn for Ko.

He got lots of cool presents from everyone. He also got a new swingset that his Daddy and two Papaw’s put together for him a few weeks ago. They worked so hard on it and Koen loves it!

Koen had a good time with his little brother Ty, and his cousins Brayden and Kaleigh!

Here are a few pics of my new little man Tylan Brack:

We love our two little men so very much! Koen turned 2 and Tylan is now 5 weeks old.

Also a very happy birthday to Mamaw Sandy and Papaw Gleason this month! Yes the oreo ice cream cake was so good that Tim bought the same cake for both birthdays….haha!

A Blessed Easter!

Posted by tmpowers on April 11, 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We colored eggs with Koen. He loved throwing I mean dropping the eggs into the water. He helped Daddy put the stickers on his Cars Eggs.

We took Koen to Clintwood Bible Church for their Easter Egg Hunt. After he got started he had a great time.

Easter morning started off by attending Sunrise Service at our church. Koen got to spend time with both his little cousins at the same time! Look at how cute they are!

We spent some time at mom and dad’s before heading out to Sherin’s to eat and hide eggs!

Koen had a great time playing ball, hiding eggs and feeding the goats!

Then we went to Tim’s mom and dad’s house to hide eggs and eat. Koen liked to help Kaleigh find the eggs.

Koen got lots of Easter baskets! We got him a barn set and he loves it!

I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter weekend and remembered to celebrate the true meaning of Easter!

Birthdays & Snow!

Posted by tmpowers on February 7, 2010

We have spent the past couple weeks celebrating birthdays! Heather’s birthday, my birthday & Tim’s birthday.
Mom and dad fixed us steaks and a big chocolate chip cookie cake for our birthdays.

We also had steak at Tim’s mom and dad’s to celebrate all three of our birthdays.
We had honey bun cake and homemade ice cream cake made by our neighbor Barbara who is 94!

Tim and Koen got me a Willow Tree figurine of a man and woman, and of two brothers! They are so cute!
They also got me some maternity clothes and a purse. Koen and I got Tim a Willow Tree father and son figurine
and a Tom-Tom GPS for his truck.

Tim brought me an ice cream cake home on the day of my birthday and ironically enough Heather brought Tim
the exact same cake to him at work on his birthday!

We also got to play in the snow with Koen last weekend. Daddy and Koen made a snowman.
Looks like Koen did most of the work though….shoveling the snow….haha!

Koen also made a snow angel. He thought it was fun until the snow went down his collar.

Happy Birthday to Heather to me and to Tim! :)

Elmo, Puppy Dogs and Haircuts!

Posted by tmpowers on January 29, 2010

A couple weeks ago we took Koen to see Sesame Street Live: When Elmo Grows Up at Freedom Hall in Johnson City TN.  Koen absolutely loves Elmo and Mr. Noodle but we weren’t sure how he would react to giant-sized characters in person. He was a little scared at first but then he adjusted to them pretty well. It was a very cool and neat experience and I hope he will be able to enjoy them more as he gets older.

The cast did an awesome job and it was lots of fun! Here is Elmo and Mr. Noodle!

Uncle Steve brought his five puppies down to Mamaw Elsie’s house for Koen to play with. He was so hilarious with them! He kept calling them bay-bays and wanted to pick them up.

We gave Koen a haircut last weekend with a pair of hair clippers. He was such a big boy and let me cut it. He looks so different and it is so much shorter! Here is the before and after picture!

Happy Birthday to Heather who had a birthday on Sunday! Happy Birthday to me today! haha :)
A birthday blog will come later this weekend!

A Christmas To Remember…

Posted by tmpowers on January 16, 2010

I know I am a little late on the Christmas post….but things have been crazy during the holidays this year! We were without power for a total of 15 days including Christmas and New Years! It will definately be a Christmas that we will never forget.
Here are a few pictures from the holler the day after the storm.

Once they started working on our electricity it took them almost 6 days to get it restored. They had to completely reset 6 or 7 power poles just in our holler. Most of the poles had been snapped into or completely uprooted from the ground. Our phone service and cable went out before the power went out. Our phone and cable wasn’t restored until around 3 weeks. We were only without water for a couple of days but my parents were without water for around a week. Thankfully though my parents never lost electricity or phone during the storm. We took turns staying with them and staying with Tim’s parents. Koen got used to taking his bath in a dishpan and loved it! haha :)

Even though our Christmas was very different this year we were all still very blessed and had a wonderful holiday.
We were able to spend more time with our families this year.

We did manage to stop at our house on Christmas Eve morning to open all of our presents. We had our gas logs turned on but it was still around 50 degrees in our house. Here is Koen trying out his new Cars toddler bed!

Koen and Kaleigh left Santa some cookies and milk. Santa left Koen a huge ball pit!

Koen got lots of presents from all of his family! Kaleigh watched Koen play with his presents.

Kaleigh and Peanut got lots of presents too!

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and will continue to have a blessed New Year!

It’s a Boy!

Posted by tmpowers on January 12, 2010

We had our ultrasound the week of Christmas and found out that we were having another boy!
Koen was excited to see his little brother on the screen during the ultrasound. He kept saying “Bay-Bay”!
My mom and dad went with us since they had never got to see an ultrasound before.

Here is the proof of the boy…and she showed me at several different places and times so I’m sure it is a boy.

He was so cute during the ultrasound. He was just like Koen laying with both his hands behind his head and with his ankles crossed.
Koen sleeps like that all the time even now.

Here is a picture of his face. I don’t really like these frontal face pics because they look like little alien babies….but they always do them.
The next one is a picture of the cute little feet!

Here are some pics that the radiologist emailed to me.

We are looking forward to the arrive of our second little boy in May! I am 21 weeks this week so I am half way there!
